Does the term “expert” really mean anything?

Over the last couple years I have been amazed by all the LinkedIn and social media “experts” that seem to be everywhere. I did a Google search on “social media expert” and got 1,360,000 results. With “LinkedIn expert” it resulted in 34,700 results. Wow.

I had a stimulating chat with a fellow this morning who is probably one of the brightest guys I have ever met in our PRO Alliances group in Cedarburg. He is an expert in branding and the “start-up” guy when it comes to launching a business. His name is Mike Farley with JacksonSpencer.
